A great way to improve safety

Safety management can be a touchy topic. Disagreements abound: Should companies go the route of behavior-based safety, or follow a systems approach? Should safety be management-driven or employee-driven? What metrics should be used to assess the safety process?

We recently spoke to a number of experts in the occupational safety and health field. Though some of their recommendations seem at odds with each other and they approach safety from different perspectives, two themes reverberated throughout the comments. The first was the need for safety leadership, not just safety management. The second was the need to incorporate safety into the organizational structure of the business and not treat it as a separate function.

Safety supervisor

For the construction of a tunnel on the premises of GSK, the client needed some support to ensure that there would be no accidents on his construction site. Safety was important on this construction site. Here for we have foreseen a 'safety coaching' formula with one senior safety coach and one junior safety coach to ensure the HSE supervion on site as the preparation of the HSE administration and meetings

Turn Around

For the turn around at the Total Petrochemical premises we needed to find a solution applicable for the whole plant. A challenge. We've been opting for a solution with one prevention officer level 2, supported by 2 team leaders and a team of confined space guards.

Safety training

A circle of safety coordinators needed a couple of safety trainings packages to give to their members. Hence we provided these packages and a trainer to go with it.
